Chapter President Tom Whelan and Chapter Treasurer Nick Samela are working to restore a 1941 Fairchild 24W equipped with a 275HP Jacobs
Like a Phoenix this great bird will rise from the ashes of a hangar fire to grace the skies once more.

Chapter Young Eagles Coordinator Ray Marrion is now the third-generation caretaker of Champ NC85079. Prior to him his grandfather owned the Champ from 1973 to 2009 ,sadly having to part with it in 2009.
Years later Ray managed to run across the Champ for sale in upstate NY. Chapter President Tom as well as Chapter Tresuer Nick assisted Ray in bringing the Champ back home to Whelan Farms CT01. Ray has since been giving her some TLC and upgrading the A-75-8 to a C-85-12.
